We currently have an opportunity for a full time Network Engineer to join our team. The role is based at our Cirencester head office and there will be plenty of opportunities to travel to client sites (predominantly in Wiltshire, Hampshire and London areas).

We are seeking someone from a focused network background with strong experience with routing and switching who can be flexible and a strong team player. Experience with network security and design is beneficial as you will support the network architecture teams with your hands-on knowledge of clients’ environments. Similarly, experience with MPLS, WAN and VPN is highly desirable along with CCNA/CCNP (or similar) certification.

Main duties and responsibilities will involve:

  • Monitoring network performance (availability, utilisation, throughput and latency), responding to anomalies and alarms to continuously improve network availability and stability.
  • Providing resolution to network queries escalated from the service desk team such as hardware related faults, bandwidth monitoring, and general network troubleshooting.
  • Configure, manage and maintain network environments spanning different vendor technologies.
  • Assist with onsite project based installation and deployment work, new equipment & systems as required.
  • Help define and adhere to network policies and procedures, including change control processes and governance, within our organisation.
  • Utilising skills and knowledge to assist onsite service desk with case resolution, monitoring technical escalations.
  • Meeting set KPI’s.

Essential skills, experience and qualifications include:

  • You must be able to satisfy a background check to BPSS Standard. SC level clearance would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Cisco CCNA/CCNP or similar experience.
  • Remote Access (Cisco ASA / AnyConnect) and site to site VPN configuration experience.
  • Zone-based firewall knowledge including firewall administration and troubleshooting (SonicWall).
  • Experience with a range of L2 switching platforms (such as Cisco Nexus, HPProcurve).
  • Working knowledge of layer 2 protocols (OSPF, VRF).
  • Experience of network monitoring platforms such as PRTG and/or Auvik.
  • Excellent layer 2 troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with industrial switching (Moxa) would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Experience with Cisco DNA Center would be advantageous but not essential.

What you can expect:

In addition to your salary, you will be rewarded with: –
